GO-GN next phase launches! (plus Penguin)

We are very pleased to announce that we have secured funding for a further three years from the Hewlett Foundation. We are very grateful for the continued support from Angela DeBarger and the Hewlett Foundation for allowing us to continue this project. This success is undoubtedly a result of the impact they see our members making in the world of OER and the generous things they say about the importance of the network, so big thank-you to all our fabulous researchers.

In terms of what we aim to deliver over the next three years, it’s a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” to some extent, so we will continue with the annual seminars, the regular webinars, the online network and support. But we also want to develop some areas further, including:

  1. Expand the number of researchers who can participate
  2. Increase the reputation and reach of the network
  3. Act as conduit for OER research, promoting and distilling relevant work
  4. Increase diversity and inclusion in the network

More details will follow, including news on next year’s seminar, new team members, and planned outputs. But for now, rejoice in GO-GN goodness for another three years!

Almost as importantly, we also have a new Instagram account for the GO-GN Penguin. We’ll give these out to members so if you get one, take pics on its travels and we’ll repost over there!
