"Education does not transform the world. Education changes people. People transform the world". Paulo Freire I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm also an American citizen due to the fact that my mother was born in the US. I have lived and worked most of my life in Sao Paulo, a city that has over 18 million inhabitants. I worked for many years as an ESL instructor at a bi-national centre (Associao Alumni). From 1997 to 2002, I coordinated, developed and implemented the institution's online programs and courses. I am also a certified translator/interpreter and possess a post graduate degree in Interactive Technologies applied to Education. Currently, I own a company (E-connection) that renders instructional design and educational consulting services. I possess a M. Ed. in Distance Education from Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada. Currently, I am a Doctoral candidate and OER researcher at Athabasca University.
