Sarah and Jo will be exploring: How can we Decolonise Curriculum with ChatGPT and other types of biased education technology? How can we adapt our experiences appropriating and resisting repressive educational processes to the current Generative AI platforms?

Sarah will provide a background and rationale for the work and then step through a series of screenshots of recent experiments to Decolonise curriculum in the context of her work at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and Monash University in Australia. 

Jo will discuss her work to shift the underlying power dynamics in allowing for student agency and authority in co-authoring intercultural practice and knowledges on open platforms. This speaks to how – regardless of the tech, tools or lack thereof – we can use OEP as a vehicle for new trends and technologies to advance Decolonisation and social justice in education . 

Then there will be an open discussion about the possibilities and challenges of this work, and a sharing of other member’s experience.
