GO-GN’s EDI guides are now available in Spanish!
We are excited to present the GO-GN Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) guides in Open Education with a focus on Africa and Latin America in Spanish.
The first English version was made available in February 2023. This translated version includes the same content from both phases. However, it is important to note that this is a reduced version that does not include all the results of Phases 1 and 2 and focuses on the methodology, practical guides, and relevant literature. Following the same objective as the present translation, the results of both phases were widely disseminated through conference presentations, webinars, and blog posts, translating the Phase 2 blog posts into Portuguese and Spanish.
It is important to remember that the first phase (2018-19) focused on EDI practices in open education in Africa. Nine interviews were conducted with key open education experts and practitioners from Africa. This phase also included a two-day in-person workshop in Nairobi and several dissemination events. The results of Phase 1 informed GO-GN’s initial recommendations for EDI and also provided the basis for Phase 2 of the EDI project. Phase 2 of the project began in early 2020. The objective of this phase was to investigate EDI in open education in Latin America. Twelve online interviews were conducted with key EE experts across Latin America, including participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Uruguay. Instead of an in-person workshop, the team held an online workshop with previously interviewed key project participants. With thanks to Francisco (Paco) Iniesto for translating the original report.
