We’re delighted to welcome GO-GN’er Gino Fransman (Open Education Influencers/ Africa Hub OE4BW) and Koshala Terblanche (Learning Experience Design and Innovation) from Nelson Mandela University who will be discussing Open Empowerment and Evaluations: Professional Development, Content Curation and Quality Standards.

In this session, Koshala Terblanche and Gino Fransman from Nelson Mandela University share their collaborative journey of creating an Open online empowerment course, the opportunities for professional development for students and staff, and empowering the curation and creation of Open content. Participants can expect a profile of the 6 module Becoming an Open Education Influencer course, which was made in the UNESCO OE4BW Programme, plus hear from stakeholders about their professional development experiences engaged in the production of OER and Open Textbooks. A look at a course evaluation tool under development shares a method to evaluate both Open Textbooks and online courses.
